Color

For some strange odd reason, I have always associated Quistis with the colors of blue and green - most likely because her eyes are blue and the fact that her introduction FMV featured tons of shades of green. I had a little color symbolism section over at Problematic, so I thought - Hey! Let's do one for Quistis! The Japanese are known for their instilled sense of symbolism anyways. :P
Blue conveys importance and confidence without being somber or sinister, hence the blue power suit of the corporate world and the blue uniforms of police officers. Long considered a corporate color, blue, especially darker blue, is associated with intelligence, stability, unity, and conservatism.

Just as seeing red alludes to the strong emotions invoked by the color red, feeling blue or getting the blues represents the extremes of the calm feelings associated with blue, i.e. sadness or depression, lack of strong (violent) emotion. Dark blue is sometimes seen as staid or stodgy — old-fashioned.

It seems like the color blue fits Quistis perfectly. Quistis, as an Instructor and Squall and co.'s guide, has one of the most important roles in the game: she's the one that teaches the leaders of the next generation of SeeD. She's the epitome of intelligence and conservatism; she's mostly stable in her life, sans a few abrupt lapses of her judgement. However, those lapses do in fact give her trouble - Square themselves say that she's prone to become "depressed over trivial matters." And I hate to say it over and over again, but a lot of people classify Quistis as a rather prudish character.
With both a warming and cooling effect, the color green denotes balance, harmony, and stability. Use several shades of green for a fresh, Springtime feel. Olive green, also called olive drab, is a not so drab summery green that may have military overtones for some people.

It seems not only is the theme of balance stressed in her astrology sign and name, but also through the color green, a color I personally associate with Quistis (I don't know if it's just me or what...). Ah, but yes! Green is a military color, and SeeD is a military/mercenary type organization.

There isn't much to go buy when analyzing green, and since I'm in no way a color expert, I can't make up things. And so thus abruptly ends this analyzation.
