Blood

In Japan, a person's blood type is believed to lend insight to his character and is deeply rooted within the populus. Perhaps that's why Square often gives its character blood types? Anyways, Quistis' blood is type A.
Type A - "Cool"; Traits:
Obedient, Careful, Sympathetic, Self-Sacrificing, Polite, Honest, Loyal, Emotional, Introverted & Nervous.

Are reserved calm and even tempered. Sensitive to public opinion. May be introverted, shy and nervous or ill at ease with others. May be Pessimistic. Value relationships and is loyal. Hesitant to change. Nature lovers and dislike crowds - need a private place or secret hideaway. Can be indecisive. Good at team work and obey rules. Dislike to touch or be touched by others.

Well, to me this sounds exactly like Quistis. She follows the rules straight from the book, sacrificed her (microscopic) chances with Squall for Rinoa, is definitely polite (outwardly polite with Rinoa in the beginning), emotional - she just has trouble in terms of dealing with her feelings, and quite introverted. Her position as an Instructor has forced her to be calm and patient with her students and comrades, and this same position - when taken away - forces her to become a bit awkward with the Gang, since she doesn't really know how to act. Quistis, to me, exudes a very conservative persona (much like her "stick up her butt" trait), and is quite indecisive in terms of emotional outbursts - first she blows up at Rinoa, and the next moment she wants to apologize.

Square was obviously right in labeling Quistis type A. Whoo, go them!
