Body Language

Gippal tends to be extremely expressive when he speaks, using his arm and body to convey messages. As seen in the Luca speech, he often moves his arms and hands about his body to try to emphasize a point - or perhaps he really can't keep still; the Al Bhed are known to always have a need to be moving about or to be doing something. Gippal is also often seen standing with his hands on his hips or scratching the back of his head. The first stance indicates his self-confidence and his comfort in his own skin: he doesn't feel the need to change his demeanor for anyone. The latter however, could indicate his fear of losing control. Being as certain of himself and his leadership role, it is only understandable that Gippal would would be afraid of losing his ability to manage the situation, especially with the prior terror faced during his Crimson Squad days.
